Last month we saw 212,980 Nigerians on Facebook. Based on the 17% increase, we expected the figure to reach 249,186. However it only increased by 5.33% bringing the number of active users to 224,340.
I have been following the graph using Allfacebook’s Demographic Statistics tool and I noticed a decline since my last post.

I tried to figure out the reason for the decline and thought the end year holidays could be the cause since the statistics is based on active users. But that does not seem to be a valid reason as the decline continued up to 20th of January. From there upon there is a sharp increase bringing the total active users to 224,340.
The trend for last month is not uniform thus making it difficult to come up with any meaningful prediction. I will be making monthly updates to keep the track of the trend. Probably we can deduce something better next month.
General Facebook active users however have increased from 140 million to 150 million and could be reaching 160 million.
